Virginia Scholes Rasmussen after a two year struggle with heart failure left earth life April 22, 2017.Virginia was born during a classic blizzard January 30, 1932, the daughter of Walter A and Gladys Keveren Scholes in River Heights, Utah. After a move to Clark Idaho, she attended school in Clark and Rigby. This was followed by a year at Ricks College in Rexburg Idaho, where she met and invited her future husband, Kenneth L Rasmussen, to a Girls Choice Dance. Their fall wedding was in the Idaho Falls LDS temple on October 10, 1951.She nurtured flowers for over 50 years at their homes in Idaho Falls, which were then transplanted to their home in Magna UT. Some were transplanted again to their current home in Ogden UT.Virginia gave many years of service to others including, nearly 50 years of service to the Cub Scouts, where she earned The Silver Beaver Award. And for decades she provided child cares services for over 300 toddlers in her home. Virginia and Kenneth served an LDS Mission in the California Oakland Mission and a service mission with the Special Needs Institute.She is survived by her husband Kenneth, children; Kenneth LaRoy and Paula Rasmussen, Jeannine Olson, Brent and Meryl Rasmussen, Lyle and Tina Rasmussen, Cindy and Greg Hally, Steven, Doug and Rebecca Rasmussen and David and Anton Rasmussen-Spratt, daughters-in-law; Lori Rasmussen, and Janae DuRee, 27 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.The family would like to extend appreciation to the caregivers from Encompass Hospice for their care of Virginia.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 12 noon at the Lorin Farr LDS Stake Center 480 E 7th Street Ogden UT. Viewings will be held at the Stake Center on Tuesday from 6-8pm and Wednesday from 10:30-11:30am. Burial will follow at the Ogden City Cemetery.
