Teri Lyn Wangsgaard, age 68, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her loving family from heart complications. She was born on June 19, 1957 in Orange City, Orange County, California to David and Doris Martindale. After high school, she moved to Provo Utah where she met her eternal sweetie Ned Wangsgaard and they were sealed for time and all eternity on March 15, 1979 in the Salt Lake City temple.
Teri had a personality that was larger than life, making friends everywhere she went. She was always the first to help, and she loved serving her family, friends, and community in any way she could. Teri was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was of the upmost importance in her life, in which she used it to guide and comfort her and those around her.
Teri worked in many various careers throughout her life, one that she fondly would talk about was driving the school bus for 12 years until she retired in 2019. She then more fully focused on doing food fairs with her best friend Ned all over Utah and surrounding states.
The job that she loved the most and took the most pride in, was Mother. She had five beautiful and amazing children: Jenny (Shawn Westbroek), Scott, Kelly, Jeff (Hanna), and Amy. She loved her children wholly and fiercely. She was their number one fan, champion, supporter, and friend. Playing board or card games, and camping with her family in the mountains and down in Moab were some of her most treasured memories and something she always looked forward to. Her five grandchildren were the light of her life, and she would use any reason to talk about them and their accomplishments.
She lightened up the lives of every person she came into contact with, and always had room in her heart and her home for anyone who needed a place to stay, a mom, or a friend. We are going to miss our Mountain Momma more than words can ever possibly describe, but we are so happy for her that she is reunited with those she had previously lost and missed so, so very much. Especially her parents and her brothers. Thank you for everything you’ve done for all of us Teri. We love you endlessly and we can’t wait to all be reunited again one day.
Please join us for a Memorial and Celebration of her life to follow on June 19 at the Ben Lomond ward building of the Burch Creek Stake at 4955 Adam’s avenue in Ogden Utah at 11:00 am.
