Summar Ann Cutler CookSummar was born August 13, 1977 to Bryan Cutler and Cindy Neal Cutler Peterson. On September 6, 2019, Summar won the battle she had fought for many years, over the diseases of Lupus and CAPS, by leaving that body behind to receive a new life in heaven as an angel. It is a sad day for the world to lose an angel, one who loved others so unconditionally, who touched lives in ways few ever will, who taught lessons to all of us about endurance and sacrifice, and who gave all she had to make this world a better place, a real life superhero. We will miss her immensely but are grateful she was in our lives for the short time she was.Summar loved life! She was a dedicated Chiefs fan. She knew more about football than most. It was an experience to view a football game with Summar no matter who was playing! She enjoyed camping, four-wheeling, live music, and her dogs (babies) Baby Bear and Tama. On the warm August nights, she loved to watch the meteor showers that displayed a light show on and around her birthday. It was a symbol of her life. A light you can’t capture, but brilliant to behold.Summar worked at many places during her short life, but one of her favorites was at Ben Lomond High School as a Special Education Aide in the Severe Unit. The students and parents she worked with loved her, as she loved her students, serving them, helping them, and teaching them. The staff at Ben Lomond had high regards for the compassion she showed.Even before she graduated from the Utah College of Massage Therapy, she had the magic touch of healing. If you were so fortunate enough to experience this, you know that to be true. With this degree she was able help others find comfort from the stress and pain of life.On June 6, 2016, Summar married the love of her life, David Cook, on the tenth-year anniversary of her open-heart surgery, this time giving her heart to him. Summar loved David and all of her family, which includes her daddy Bryan, mamma Raelene, mother Cindy, pops Jimmy, father-in-law Gary, all of her siblings- Destiny, Josh, Sandi, Bryson, Holly, Carlee, Jed, Aubrey, Colby and their spouses, David’s children James and Jeremy, many very special cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts, and countless friends who thought of her as their sister. She is preceded in death by her loving grandparents.A special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who took care of Summar especially at the University of Utah Hospital and MICU. An endearing thank you to Dr. DeRemer, who did her best to help Summar for over 20 years of care.A day of celebration is planned for September 22, 2019 at Fort Buenaventura, Ogden, Utah, at 3:00 PM. Please be ready to relive the love that she shared as we come together in her honor.
