Sid Kim Johnson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, outdoorsman, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on August 7, 2026, at the age of 76.

Sid was born on August 14, 1949, to Conal and Irene Johnson of Preston, Idaho. Sid was raised in the middle of nine siblings in Preston. Sid learned early the values of hard work, self-reliance, and appreciation for the simple things in life. Sid’s fondest memories came from working alongside his father on the family farm. Life eventually led him into a career working as a conductor and brakeman for Union Pacific Railroad.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elois Johnson; children, Bobby Redding (James Carrol), Crystal Sapa (Tony Sapa), and Natalie Graham (Eric Graham); grandchildren, Sasha Mondragon (Carlos Mondragon), Christopher Torres (Christine Torres), Anthony Sapa (Mindy Cardenas), Leilani Sapa (Antoine Puefua), Ryker Graham; and great-grandchildren, Jaydant Puefua and Noah Torres.

Sid will be remembered for his quiet strength, humble nature, unwavering determination, and deep love for family and friends. He loved the outdoors, fishing, cruising on his motorcycles. His love for playing basketball was unstoppable, and his love for his kitties. He loved singing, singing karaoke with the grandkids, the satisfaction of a freshly mowed lawn, caring for his garden, and the simple country life that always felt like home.

Most of all, he will be remembered as a man who refused to let life’s hardships define him. Through courage, grit, and gratitude, he built a life rich with purpose, love, and meaning, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Memories may be shared with family and friends on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 12:00–2:00 p.m. at 1504 East 400 South, Preston ID.
