It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Ruthel Nanette Van Sickle Hover. She found her way into the Lord’s arms in the ER at Ogden Regional on May 7, 2020. She was suffering from several health issues but now she’s in a better place.\n\nRuthel was born on March 15, 1953 at the Old Saint Benedict’s Manor east of Ogden High School in Ogden, Utah, to Herman Don VanSickle and Golda Mae White. Whe raised by family members living throughout Utah, from Plain City in Northern Utah to Moab, in Southern Utah. She had a total of six siblings including brothers: Bob, Mike, and Scott; three sisters: Sue, Donna, and Jan. Being survived by Scott and Jan.\n\nNan married Gary Ralph Hover Sr. also deceased. They had two children together, Wendy Jo Hover-Thomas and Gary Mervyn Hover, before parting ways. She later met Robert David Child and had a son, Joshua David Child, also before parting ways.\n\nShe raised her three children all on her own, while attending vocational schools to complete the electronics and cosmetology courses to make a better life for her children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, as well as many cousins and loved ones.\n\n“Nan” as everyone affectionately called her, was a motherly figure to her nieces and nephews as well as children and grandchildren, friends of family. She never turned anyone away. She made a huge impact in the lives of all those that knew her. In short, she loved her pets, Pepsi, and pictures of her grandchildren. We all love you and miss you beautiful Nan.
