Rockney Mike Waddell passed away March 30th 2022 after a long and courageous battle with health conditions.\n\nMike was born February 4th through February 7th 1954 in Sacramento, California to Barbara Lee and Gene Waddell. While the actual date of Mike’s birth was late discovered in his 20’s, he was a positive thinker and opportunist so, the misunderstanding became a standing week-long birthday celebration every year after that.\n\nThroughout life, Mike was a bright, talented and skilled roofer. He enjoyed a roofing ax best and many could attest that the speed in which he could drive roofing nails was the fastest. Mike was a kind and generous man and many that were close to him, have many precious memories of his generosity and love, always considering and including everyone. Mike was also charming and those that had the pleasure to dance with him, will always remember how it felt to be in his strong arms on a dance floor.\n\nEarly in life, Mike married Valerie Southam and had three girls, Ronda, Jennie and Connie. He later joined with Shelly Buckley and added two boys and two girls to his family, Michael, Barbara, Samantha and Patrick. All of his children proudly carried his last name.\n\nHe is survived by his sister Jan (Quelle) Caddell, children Ronda (Kevin) Shaw, Jennie (Hailey) Waddell, Connie (Daniel) Torres, Michael Waddell, Barbra Waddell, Samantha (Jerome) Waddell, Patrick Waddell and many grandchildren. He also leaves behind a number of close friends and, like his family, he loved them dearly.\n\nA celebration of life will take place over Memorial weekend and a tree will be planted in his honor. Those that would like to attend this celebration of life can contact his children.\n\nWe will always remember you for your charm, sense of humor, your good looks and your kindness. And like you always encouraged and entertained, may we all strive to never be “a fake, a fraud or a part-time broad”.
