Richard Arnold Olson passed away peacefully on October 11th 2026. Richard was born on May 15th 1944 in Ogden, UT and raised by Roy and Vera Mortenson. He attended school in Morgan, UT and when Richard was seventeen years old, he made the courageous decision to serve our country. Richard served in the United States Army and often spoke about the time he spent in Germany. After the Army, Richard married Bonnie Olson and together they had three beautiful children: Dixie, Kelly, and Heidi. Later in life, Richard and Bonnie divorced but continued to remain close friends.

He was well known for his ability to turn lumber into intricate furniture, cabinets, and even beautiful homes.

In his later years, Richard continued to stay busy. When he wasn't working, fishing, or recruiting new cats to feed, you could find him making friends at the local breakfast restaurants. Richard lived a full life and leaves behind a memorable legacy. Richard is preceded in death by his parents as well as both of his daughters: Dixie and Heidi. He is survived by his brother Bud (Sandra) Olson and his son Kelly Olson. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard was incredibly loved and will be missed by many.
