Maria "Yolanda" Boney, 60, of Ogden, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at McKay Dee Hospital, in Ogden, Utah.\nYolanda was born Thursday, January 17, 1963, to Nasario Boney and Emma Padilla, in Ogden, Utah. In her early years, she developed a strong sense of family that helped shape her throughout life always putting those she loved first. she spent her childhood in Ogden and graduated from Canyon High School in 1981.\nShortly after graduation, she married Kirk Sherman and started her own family which eventually grew to include 4 children, Joseph Sherman, Kristina Gonzales, Richard Martinez, and Saintos Boney; 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchild. She had a great love of God and was a devoted member of the Catholic faith.\nYolanda filled her time with things that brought her joy, especially spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She also enjoyed Oldies , Old school & dancing to Mexican Music". She would frequently volunteer at local nursing homes to cooking and spending her time helping the residents there. She enjoyed playing cards & crossword puzzles She was always able to find the good in everybody and would do anything to help anyone, whether she knew them or not, however, this was easily seen in the love and support she gave to all her nieces, nephews, children, and grandchildren. She will be loved and missed by all those who knew her. \nMaria Yolanda is preceded in death by her daughter Kristina Gonzalez ; grandson Angel Ortiz; her parents Nasario & Emma Boney; sisters, Mary Jacobo and Mary (Jenny) Ortiz; her brothers, Max Boney and Joseph (Floyd) Boney\nShe is survived by her 3 sons Joseph Sherman , Richard Martinez & Saintos Leroy Boney; Her Beautiful 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchild; 4 brothers; 1 sister; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
