Lester Wayne Butler, 90, passed away February 6, 2016 in Ogden, Utah. He was born January 25, 1926 in Ewing, Nebraska to Clifford L. and Anna Kruntorad Butler.He grew up and attended school in Buffalo, Wyoming. Following school he enlisted in the U. S. Navy during WW II and served on the USS Gatling in the Pacific. Following his discharge from the Navy, he returned to Buffalo where he owned and operated restaurants and a laundromat on Fort Street.Lester loved country music and dancing, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. His favorite place to be was in the Big Horn Mountains. He was always a happy, friendly and outgoing person and could strike up a conversation no matter where he was.He was a member of the Lutheran Church and attended Ascension Lutheran Church in North Ogden and St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo, WyomingHe is survived by his children: Greg Butler (Helen) and Debra Swanson (Dale); grandchildren: Gregory (Kim), Aaron (Sunny), Jared (Julie), Jeremy (Laura), and Joshua; great grandchildren: Dylan, Carson, Bradyn, Telli, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Eli, Serena, Monica, David and Sophia.Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church 1105 N Washington Blvd, North Ogden, UT 84404. Interment will follow at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, Bluffdale, UT where military honors will be accorded.
