Our dear husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Kevin Erickson Alder passed away unexpectedly after complications from a short battle with kidney disease on Thursday May 7, 2020 at the age of 46.\n\nHe was born in Ogden, Utah on July 31, 1973 to Kenneth and Carla Alder and lived in North Ogden most of his life. As a kid he loved sports of every type. He could often be found outside, barefoot, tossing a ball around the yard in any kind of weather. He loved his family tremendously, and enjoyed many activities with them including backpacking, hunting, snowmobiling, and skiing.\n\nHe graduated from Weber High School in 1991 and attended Snow College for a year before his mission. In August 1992 he began his service as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Lansing, Michigan mission. This mission helped to strengthen his testimony and his love for the gospel that he cherished and carried with him throughout his life.\n\nOn September 20, 1996 he was married and sealed to his sweetheart, Cynthia Cole, for time and all eternity in the Bountiful Temple. Together they raised four wonderful children that were the joy of his life. He enjoyed attending as many of their school and sporting events as he was able. He remained an avid sports fan, never missing a University of Utah or LA Rams football game. He could often be found walking all over North Ogden either pushing his lawn mower to his next job or walking to the grocery store, stopping to visit with everyone he knew along the way.\n\nHe is survived by his wife Cyndi, his children JayLynn (Kevin) Brittian, Emilee Alder, Shawn Alder, Jacob Alder, and Justin Alder, his grandson Jaxson Brittian, his father Kenneth Alder, his siblings Connie (Mark) Johnson, Kirt Alder, and Christine (David) Lower along with many nieces and nephews all of which he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Grant and Dorothy Alder and Byron and Iris Erickson, his nephew Kelton Lower and his sweet mother Carla Alder.\n\nA family viewing will be held on Tuesday May 12th at 9:00am followed by a family graveside service at 11:00am. Interment will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery.\n\nThe family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at McKay-Dee hospital who attended to him while he was ill. They would also like to thank their friends and family for all of the support they have received during this tragic time. Without their support, this whole event would have been unbearable.\n\nAnyone wishing to make a donation to the Kevin Alder Memorial Fund can do so at America First Credit Union, account number 9115650. These proceeds will be used to pay for Kevin’s medical and funeral expenses.
