James “Jim” Edward Lanier III passed away at his home in Ogden, UT on December 16, 2017 with his beloved dogs on his lap. He was born In Ogden, UT on October 19, 1953 to James Edward and Doris Lucille Edwards Lanier. He resided in the Weber and Morgan Counties most of his life with a few years in Idaho and Alaska. He married Mary Fromm and to this union they were blessed with 2 children. They later divorced. He married Kerie Gleed Carmony and to this union joined her daughter and they celebrated 26 years together.Jim was a self-employed Certified Flooring Installer. He exemplified a strong work ethic, using his eye for perfection and taking pride in the results. He was a skilled artist and craftsman. He created intricate wood carvings and other works of art which he delighted in giving to others. He relished being outdoors to fish, camp and hunt. He was a lifetime A.B.A.T.E. of Utah member. He adored his family and his dogs. Jim was friendly, generous and always willing to assist others. He will remain deeply missed.He is survived by his Wife: Kerie; Children and Grandchildren: Jim Lee (Jacque) and their Children: Nakina and Dakota, Eric Lee (Samantha) and their Children: Corinne, Sara, Nathaniel, Zoey, Kallyn, Xander; Step-Daughter Kacie Martin and her Children: Jordon, Kourtnee and Jayson. He is also survived by his Siblings: Janice Fretz, Harold Lanier (Pamela), Gene Lanier (Judith) and Shirley McClurg (John). He was preceded in death by his Parents and Brother: Harlan Lanier.Kerie would like to express appreciation to Jim and Jacque Lee, Harold Lanier and all of Jim’s family for their love and support.A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 from 5-7P.M. at Provident Funeral Home, 3800 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT.
