Ivalue Porter Johnson died February 8, 2022, at her home of heart failure. She was born September 23, 1931, in Mapleton, Idaho. She was the sixth of 15 children, a daughter of George Riley and LaVerna Wanner Porter.\n\nShe graduated from Preston High School in 1949. She married Mervin Lamb Johnson on December 4, 1953, in the Logan Utah LDS Temple.\n\nThey raised two sons, Michael Porter Johnson (Ann) and Kevin Mervin Johnson, who died of a brain tumor when he was 20 months old, and three daughters, Sharilyn Hennefer (Kirk), Valerie Johnson, and Karilee Nelson.\n\nShe worked at White City Bowling Alley and Ben Lomond Lanes, tending children for 45 years.\n\nShe enjoyed embroidery, working in the garden, early morning walks to pick up cans, bowling and attending the Ogden Temple. She liked sports, her favorite teams were the Ogden Raptors, University of Utah basketball and football, Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Soxs baseball teams, and especially the Utah Jazz. She enjoyed activities and birthdays with family.\n\nShe has three granddaughters, Vanessa Rose Nelson, Alicia Merie Nelson Bell (Brandon) and Jessica Ann Johnson, one grandson, Justin Michael Johnson, and one great grandson, Mateusz Don Bell who was born on November 27, 2021. She enjoyed holding him a week before Christmas.\n\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin Lamb Johnson, and her son Kevin Mervin Johnson.\n\nShe was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a great example to us going to church every Sunday, attending the temple every week, and doing her visiting teaching every month. She had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a strong woman and a great influence to all around her.\n\nFuneral Services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Paradise Acres Ward, 236 Porter Ave., at 11 am. Friends may visit from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Idaho Cemetery at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers donate to the charity of your choice.
