North Ogden – Max quietly left this earth life on November 15, 2017. He was born in Logan, UTJanuary 25, 1937 to Glenn Murdock and Cora Cook Jones. His siblings are Doyle (Cleo) deceased, Madeline (Wayne), Michael (Gloria), and Nancy (Wes).Max was a free spirited and adventuresome boy. He frequently escaped into the hills where he could be found hunting, trapping, or fishing near his favorite place on earth in the small Cache Valley town of Avon.He had a great passion for fast cars and Willy’s Jeeps. With his mechanical ability he built his first jeep and named it “Fire Cracker”. His friends became known as “The Gang” and still associate today.He laid eyes on Rosemary Montgomery, a beautiful farm girl from North Ogden, while ordering ice cream at Paramount Supreme where she worked. They were married July 31, 1959 in the Logan Temple. Their children are Guy (Melissa), Brett (Vanessa), Marc (Dane), Stephanie (George) and Tim. He also leaves behind 25 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.Max loved raising his family in North Ogden where he learned to work the land that his sweetheart grew up on. He raised alfalfa, horses, pigs, turkeys, chickens and his kids. He was the go-to person in the neighborhood for mechanical work or for a breakdown requiring a welding job.Max was an exceptional welder and lived by his father’s adage of, “Giving a full day’s work for a full day’s pay.” He was employed by Clearfield MFC, Jetway and Associated Pipe. He took an early retirement in 1988 due to the onset of Parkinson’s Disease. He waged a courageous battle for 35 years with never a word of complaint.He graduated from Davis High School. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ sharing it through service to others and fulfilled many callings.The family would like to thank his care givers from “A Step Forward”, Dan, Vlad, Deborah and Wayne.Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11:00a.m. at the Mountain Road Ward LDS Chapel 787 East 1700 North, North Ogden, UT. Viewing will be held at the church Sunday from 6-8p.m. and Monday from 9:30-10:30a.m. Interment will follow in the Avon City Cemetery, Avon, UT.
