Ogden – Gene Steven Valeikas passed away September 11, 2015. He was born November 7, 1967 in Oceanside, CA to Robert Peter and Nancy Loretta Petras Valeikas. He attended Oceanside Schools and graduated from Oceanside High School. He relocated to Utah in 1998 and has lived in Ogden since 2005.He was employed at Autoliv of Ogden on the Assembly Line for Air Bag Mfg. He was baptized into the Catholic Faith, the Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside, CA and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church of Ogden.Gene loved to BBQ and his San Diego Chargers. He was into being fit and could be found working out. He loved his hard rock music but most of all his real passion was his love of his family. He enjoyed many trips to Idaho to pick up a beer and a lottery ticket with Melissa.He is survived by his wife of 13 years Melissa, children: Ashley Stewart, Christina Winberg (Alex), Karrissa Kuske Valeikas (Houston Tincher), Kayla Hendrex (Chase), Kindra Hendrex, Cortney Hendrex (his favorite), Josh Kuske; 3 grandchildren: Kaydden Tolle, Carter Winberg and Riot Tincher; siblings: Celine Edmiston (Tracy), Toni Jex (Gary), Tammy Sande (Michael), Vincent Valeikas (Chris), Tracy Higgs (Steve), Tiffany Valeikas (Ben) and his dog Chim Chim. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Shane Sande.A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 1 – 3 pm to be followed with a Catholic Prayer Service at 3pm at Affordable Funeral and Cremation Solutions, 3800 South Washington Blvd. Ogden.The family would like to thank Jonathan Smolen, his chosen brother for his love and friendship and Lea Reeves for her continued love and support.In lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Gene Valeikas, Wells Fargo Bank Benefit Memorial Fund acct. # C20150715-0022653347.
