Our beloved brother, son and friend, Garrett Graham Cole, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 at the age of 29. He was born in Brigham City, Utah to Jeffrey A. and Julia J. Cole.\n\nHe attended Weber County Schools and Weber State University. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology and Computer Science. He went on to attend University of Utah where he studied in his dream field of Biomedical Informatics. He loved this field of study and felt he was doing so much good in the world. He was proud to work as a data scientist at University of Utah and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City.\n\nSome of the things Garrett loved were playing online games with his friends, techno music, playing his saxophone, trying new gourmet cheeses, graphics/web design, and photography. He loved dogs. He loved the family dog Rusty growing up and last year he adopted what he called “his best roommate ever!” He and his massive German Shepherd, Waylon, were inseparable friends. They loved going for 3 hour walks and playing fetch in his backyard. Never was there a dog more spoiled.\n\nGarrett was known for his amazing wit, infectious smile, and his kind, compassionate spirit. He was happiest when he was with his family or friends. He treasured all his little nieces and nephews and loved them so much. When he came to visit he was in the middle of them all, playing and laughing.\n\nHe was so treasured by all of us. He loved so completely and unconditionally. With his quick wit and sense of humor he was the smartest one in the room and so much fun to be with.\n\nHe loved to tinker and create and fix and he was the best at jerry-rigging anything. Garrett’s new passion was fixing up his house. It gave him hours and hours of frustration and enjoyment.\n\nHe is survived by his parents, Jeff and Julia Cole, his Brother Tyson (Xochil) Cole, his sister Alyssa (Chris) Beseris, his sister Jessica (Adam) Gehring, along with many adorning nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.\n\nGarrett will be so missed. We will always cherish our many memories of him as an incredible, adventurous, smart, hilarious, and gentle-hearted. We love, love, love him forever.\n\nGraveside services will held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 10:30 am at Ben Lomond Cemetery, 596 East 2850 North, North Ogden, Utah 84414. The graveside services will be streamed live through the funeral homes facebook page.
