With shattered hearts we announce the passing of Brody Taylor Evans, who left this world far too soon in a tragic car accident on May 2, 2026 at the age of 33.
He was born to Dan and Cindi Evans on May 5, 1992 in Ogden, Utah.
Brody was a dedicated son, brother, father, uncle, nephew and friend to many. He was known for his kind heart, fearless spirit, being his sister’s biggest protector and love for his family. He was the kind of person who lit up a room with his smile and could calm a storm with his presence. To know him was to love him. He carried the soul of a true American cowboy – strong, loyal, hardworking and free. But beneath that tough exterior was a gentle heart that loved deeply and cared endlessly for the people closest to him.
Brody was born with a passion for baseball. He was an exceptional catcher, always wearing the number 5 and cheering for the Chicago Cubs. He spent his childhood playing recreation and competition baseball and visiting Major League Baseball stadiums. Brody shared a love for collecting hot wheels and guns with his dad, as well as long talks, stubborn streaks and a bond that could never be shattered. He shared a special connection with his mom, built on love, respect, and countless cherished memories. Her love gave him strength, and his love for her was evident in everything he did. He was so proud of his sister and his love for her was always shown by taking care of her any way he could. He always told her how beautiful of a person she is and what an amazing mother she has become. He looked up to her for her strength, positive attitude and determination. We will all forever be his biggest fans.
He believed deeply in the power of prayer. His faith was quiet but powerful and it carried him through difficult times. Even during life’s hardest moments, he leaned on God with strength and unwavering faith.
Brody leaves behind 4 beautiful children that he loved more than life itself. He treasured every moment with his children and engrained the knowledge they were always loved and protected. From sitting on the floor playing with cars and trains to teaching valuable life lessons while working on his old trucks, Brody was so patient and approached fatherhood with determination to be the best father he could be. He always made it a point to tell his kids how proud he was of them and how much he loved them.
Brody spent the last decade working for Scoffield Construction. He was a hardworking concrete finisher who took pride in every job he touched. Long days, early mornings, sore hands, and heavy boots never stopped him from showing up and giving his all. He left behind a piece of himself in the work he built. Those who worked beside him knew his strength, determination, and willingness to help anyone who needed it.
He is survived by his parents Dan and Cindi Evans, his sister Baylee (Grant) – nephews Ryker and Jasper, and niece Skylee. Oldest son Zayden (12) and Taylor Sandlin, who he maintained a close relationship with and is the mother of Brantley Bo (11), his princess Brylee (8), and Bronx (3). Parents of Taylor Sandlin- Scott Sandlin and Chanda Monson, who remained a constant source of love, support and family throughout his life. He is also survived by his grandparents, Lionel and Tana Evans and Jerry and Darlene Jenkins.
Aunts and Uncles: Steph (Tim) Willis, Deb (Rick) Wood, Sharon (Dan) Eves, Carolyn (Tab) Nielson, Vonny (Clint) Spaeth, Brenda (Bruce) Anderson, Kenny (Marie) Evans, and Timmy (Jen) Evans.
He is also survived by countless cousins and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his loving Grandma Arlene Evans, Uncles Bruce Emal and Cory Francis, who we know welcomed him into heaven with open arms.
A service to celebrate Brody’s life will be held on May 17, 2026, at the Young Automotive Gallery 613 W 500 N Layton, Utah 84041 from 2pm-6pm.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Evans Venmo @DanEvans72 (0680) or the America First Memorial Account #26736108. Anything extra after the funeral expenses will be used to set up accounts for his children.
Though his time here was far too short, the memories he gave us will last forever. We will remember his laugh, his stubborn spirit and the strength he shared every day. Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye. The world feels quieter without him here and the trail ahead will never be the same. But we find comfort in knowing that somewhere beyond the sunset, our American cowboy will always be watching over us.
