Donald Rex Hawes was born on February 11, 1958. He went to heaven free from his suffering on August 3, 2024.

Don had a happy, fun filled childhood with his sister and five brothers. He was married to his wife Linda for 45 years. They enjoyed many adventures together raising their five children and traveling. Their love was strong and palpable until the very end. Don was a hard worker who selflessly provided for his family. He loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed camping, having barbecues, and traveling with them. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and he often had one at his side or on his lap.

Don was a dependable and loyal person. A pillar of strength to those around him. Everyone who knew him got to enjoy his sense of humor and his calming and gentle demeanor. He loved listening to music and his knowledge of music trivia and bands astounded many. This love he passed onto his children and it has echoed into the following generation.

Those who knew him are suffering a great loss, but at the same time he has left an imprint on our hearts that we’ll carry for the rest of our lives. We were so blessed to know this great man.

He is preceded in death by his parents Boyd and LaRue Hawes, and his brothers David Hawes and Bruce Hawes. He is survived by his wife Linda Hawes, children Aaron Hawes, Autumn Pammi (Naveen), Mason Hawes (Lacy), Rachel Hawes (Dylan), Brooke Bills (Austin), nine grandchildren, and his siblings Lynn Hawes, Rose Kerr, Randy Hawes, and Rick Hawes.

Don fought a valiant battle against the cancer that in the end took his life. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations being given to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in honor of Don. Give at: https://give.huntsmancancer.org/page/66450/donate/1
